Football Players of the Week

football_public_domainMr Aldous coaches a group of children after school on Mondays. Each week he will choose two Players of the Week – one from the older group and one from the younger group.

At the request of the children at the beginning of the year we introduced a player of the year award. So a points system was set up, each week points have been awarded for effort in the warm up and practice games and also for effort in the matches and playing as a team.

So as well as the normal awards for players of the week that went to Max and Kieran  and the player of the month that went to George W, we had the players of the year. Going into the last week there were seven players who could possibly win and the rest were not that far behind either which proves how many of the children put in a lot of effort throughout the year, but here are the three that scooped the awards;

3rd place  -  Amy football 2014
2nd place -  Ollie
Winner -  Jessica

Just a quick reminder regarding shin pads.  A kick on the shin can be very painful and sometimes quite serious. All players of all ages taking part in organised matches and training must wear shin pads by FA rules. So for the children’s own safety a pair of shin pads preferably with ankle protectors is a must.
